Wollongong Dental offers no-gap on your dental private health insurance rebate for check-up, clean & polish, fluoride treatment (and any x-rays required), if the health fund covers a minimum of $190 for check & clean; or $280 with x-rays. Most health funds do cover this amount—it is only with very basic cover with a few health funds that do not.
For preventative dental treatment (e.g. check-up, x-rays, clean), we simply swipe your health fund card and accept the health fund rebate only for preventative services if above our check-up & clean special package price. Health insurances normally pay a portion of your dental treatment, and for most health funds—it would become a gap-free dental visit. If you’re not covered by private dental insurance, we’ll be happy to provide you with an approximate quote, or if you like, you may book a full examination (including a clean and x-rays) for the discounted price of just $280!
No Gaps Dentist for Your Check-Up & Clean!
Our practice has a special program in place for those who have private health fund with sufficient dental extras cover. This includes gap-free check-ups, x-rays, clean and fluoride treatment (with sufficient dental insurance). We discount the gap normally payable by you on these preventative treatments and accept the health fund rebate only if it covers a minimum of $190 for a basic check-up & clean—which the majority of health fund covers do.
Our preventative dental policy means a big discount when booking in for a consultation, check-up or clean and polish if you bring your health fund card. That means you are able to get your teeth checked and cleaned every 6 months with either no or minimal gap, and you are using the dental extras that you pay for. If you do require extra treatment, our dentists can discuss the treatment plan with you and find out what the health fund will cover.
Please know that we accept all health insurances under HICAPS electronic claiming on the spot. This means the health fund will pay and transfer the rebate immediately, without having the pay the full amount and claim some rebate back. There are also student and pensioner discounts available if you advise us when booking your appointment and bring your card with you.

We are preferred providers of the following health funds: Australian Unity and CBHS Health Fund. This means that if you are a member of these health funds, you will receive more back from the health fund for the same treatment by attending our practice! We are a part of Australian Unity No Gap Dental Network and CBHS Choice Network for Dental. This means that our dentists are recommended by Australian Unity and CBHS Health Funds.
